About Me

For over five years I have worked with women, men, adolescents, and children in schools, community mental health agencies, and critical incident response teams. The people that I have worked with have had a wide range of mental health challenges. As a result I have experience working with issues related to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma and many other things. These experiences have been vital in helping me to solidify my passion for working with people who have experienced trauma. The professional experiences I have had have shaped me into the therapist that I am today.

I have also been deeply impacted by my personal experiences with trauma which has helped me to understand what it is like to overcome really hard things. I know what it feels like to manage the stress of traumatic events and I want to help you to heal. know that this takes a lot of hard work and I am ready to do that work with you.

How can you help me?

In my practice I specialize in helping people who have experienced something traumatic find recovery, healing, and growth. It can feel intensely lonely to try to heal from a trauma and I want to help you understand that you are not alone and that life can and does get better. I want to help you to feel more in control, capable, and strong. You deserve to grow past this disturbing event that has caused challenges in your life.

Why trauma therapy?

I was diagnosed with PTSD when I was 18 years old, two years after a traumatic event occurred. I went from therapist to therapist trying to get the help that I desperately needed without success throughout this time. I needed a competent trauma therapist and could not find one. This was made more complex by the fact that I did not know that I needed one. I decided to become what I could not find.
